Prime Source Inc. recently moved their corporate headquarters to Las Colinas, TX.  After being in the building less than a year, employess and management noticed different offices through out the day would be uncomfortable from the sun’s heat.
They had upgraded and A/C and Heat unit of the building and had even calibrated the air flow to increase in the sun exposed areas.  That helped but did not solve the problem.
We presented a solution for the windows that would artificially increase the cold air flow and create an even temperature environment through out the building, Commercial solar film.
We chose a product with the highest heat rejection in the industry with this longes warranty, 15 years.
We were also able to put these calculations in the Department of Energy’s software package to calculate the payback in years.  On this building the payback averaged 12 months all the 3 times we ran the analysis.  We took a worse case and best case scenario.
With a 1-year payback and a 15-year warranty the decision was simple.
After just finishing 1 floor of the building, employees were coming out of their offices remarking that someone must be working on the A/C units again because of the temperature drop.
